Description
Simple, portable TDS testing at home or on the go
The CARA Water Tester Pen Digital TDS Meter provides a quick and convenient way to measure the level of total dissolved solids in water.
TDS refers to dissolved substances such as minerals, salts and metals that may be present in water. The tester displays the result in parts per million (ppm), making it useful for comparing different water sources and observing changes before and after filtration.
With a wide measuring range of 0–9999 ppm, simple one-button operation and a compact pocket-sized design, the CARA Water Tester Pen is suitable for everyday use at home, while travelling or in professional environments.
Use it to compare:
- Tap water and filtered water
- Water before and after reverse osmosis filtration
- Drinking water from different locations
- Aquarium water
- RO and DI systems
- Swimming-pool water
- Other water sources where TDS monitoring is helpful
Fast, easy readings
The tester is designed for straightforward everyday use. Simply turn it on, place the probe into the water and wait a few seconds for the reading to stabilise.
The clear digital display makes the result easy to read, while the lightweight 26 g design makes the meter easy to carry, store and use wherever needed.
Key features
- Measures total dissolved solids from 0–9999 ppm
- Fast digital readings
- Simple one-button operation
- Clear backlit display
- Compact, pocket-sized design
- Lightweight at approximately 26 g
- Suitable for home, travel and professional use
- Useful for checking reverse osmosis and water-filter performance
- Operates in water temperatures from 0–80°C

How to use
- Switch on the tester
Press the power button to turn on the device. - Place the probe in the water
Submerge the testing end at approximately a 45-degree angle to help prevent air bubbles around the sensors. - Wait for the reading
Hold the tester steady for approximately three seconds, or until the displayed result stabilises. - Read and store
Note the ppm result, switch off the meter, dry the probe and store it safely.
Understanding your reading
The meter displays the concentration of dissolved substances in water as a TDS reading in ppm.
A lower reading generally indicates fewer dissolved solids, while a higher reading indicates a greater concentration of dissolved minerals, salts or other substances.
TDS testing is particularly useful for monitoring changes in water and comparing filtration performance. However, a TDS meter does not identify which specific substances are present and should not be used on its own to confirm that water is microbiologically safe or free from individual contaminants.
